June 30, 1944 to November 20, 2019

John/Bunny/Dad/Grandpa had a larger than life personality and those who knew him will remember his wicked and often inappropriate sense of humour. His passions were his family, friends, golf, rock and roll, lawn care, and a good milkshake. He was intuitive, with a keen interest in people, young and old, and an uncanny ability to connect. He always managed to find out their life story (including details they probably didn’t mean to share.). He gave practical advice, was always optimistic, and often quoted his favourite line from that famous philosopher, Ricky Nelson, “You can’t please everyone so you’ve got to please yourself.”

He loved and admired his wife, of 50 years , Sandy, and was so proud of his children Sarah (Raj Dilawri), Heather (A.J. Ratcliffe), Emma (Andy Diaz) and Jonathon (Shannon Jones). He adored his grandchildren Emmett, Kaleb, Graeme, Grace, Jack, Andrew, Sawyer, and our baby angel, Amelia. He will be missed by his sisters Nana (Gareth Evans), Jane, and his sister-in-law Sue (Keith Mitchell) and their families.

The family sincerely thanks the Meaford Long Term Care Facility and its caring staff, Dr. Wong and the team at Meaford Hospital, and Dr. Mike Lewin.

There will be visitation at Meaford Hall, Sunday, November 24th from 2-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Meaford Hospital Foundation of The Meaford Nursing Home Auxiliary.
